New Unit Inspection
During a new unit inspection, you are attending the property to document the state of the unit when it enters the portfolio including: existing wear and tear, damages, cleanliness, items left behind, maintenance issues, and anything else you may notice which would impact the ability to show the unit.
To begin your inspection, create a new asset in SnapInspect and add all the rooms that apply to the unit. Edit the rooms as necessary (i.e. if there is no fire place in the living room or windows in the bathroom mark as N/A). If you notice the room includes an item not automatically populated by SnapInspect (i.e. if a basement has a bar or kitchenette add the corresponding item).
Once completed upload the inspection so our service team can review the inspection.
Move-out Inspection
During a move-out inspection, you are inspecting the unit with the tenant to document the state of the unit when the tenant returns possession, including damages, cleanliness, items left behind, maintenance issues, and anything else you may notice which would impact a move-in or the ability to show the unit.
To begin your inspection, find the asset in SnapInspect and copy the most recent new unit or move-in inspection found in the Uploaded Inspections section. Inspect the property with the tenant using the previous inspection as a basis. If you notice any deficiencies not present in the previous report update the item accordingly.
The tenant will receive a copy of the inspection once it has been reviewed by the services department. If the tenant has any questions regarding the inspection or their security deposit, advise them to respond to our services department once they have received the report.
Move-in Inspection
During a move-in inspection, you are inspecting the unit with the tenant to document the state of the unit when the tenant takes possession, including damages, cleanliness, items left behind, maintenance issues, and anything else you may notice which would impact their move-in.
To begin your inspection, find the asset in SnapInspect and copy the most recent new unit or move-out inspection found in the Uploaded Inspections section. Inspect the property with the tenant using the previous inspection as a basis. If you notice any deficiencies not present in the previous report update the item accordingly.
The tenant will receive a copy of the inspection once it has been reviewed by the services department. If the tenant has any questions regarding the inspection or their tenancy direct them to submit a request through their Resident Center.
